ASUS Unveils the TUF Sabertooth X99 Motherboard

ASUS already has a great lineup of X99 motherboards, but we were wondering if we would see an X99-based TUF (The Ultimate Force) motherboard come out. Well it looks like the waiting is over as the company has unveiled the TUF Sabertooth X99 at CeBIT this week!

This new motherboard is based of Intel’s X99 Express chipset and will support Haswell-E processors. Just like the TUF Z97 models the X99 model will feature ASUS’s TUF Fortifier, Thermal Armor, PCI-Express dust guards, and much, much more!

As far as connectivity goes on the board you will have four USB 3.0 ports, two USB 3.1 (Type A) ports, four USB 2.0 ports, dual Gigabit Ethernet, HD audio, and a dedicated USB port for TUF Detective. Of course all of these ports have Dust Defenders on them as well!

When it comes to storage you have two SATA Express ports, six SATA 6GB/s ports, NVM Express support via Hyper Kit M.2 adapter, and two USB 3.0 headers. Also if you happen to not have the need to use the two SATA Express ports you can use the extra four SATA ports.

One of the really cool new features is the new TUF Detective. This all-new technology displays live system information on your smartphones and tablets, without even switching on the PC. Plug in your Android smartphone via the dedicated USB port on the rear IO. It can remotely turn on, restart, clear CMOS, view voltages and live system clock speeds.
