ASUS was also showing off some Z170 goodness at Computex with their Z170 Pro motherboard, which will be part of their mainland series. The color design is black with white accents, much like what we saw on their X99 mainland series motherboards. The motherboard will feature a 15 phase DIGI+VRM design. The entire PWM section is actually covered up by large heatsinks that are interconnected by a heatpipe. Next to the CPU socket we have four DDR4 DIMM slots which support 64GB of DDR4 memory up to 3400 MHzz (OC).
As far as expansion slots got you have three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots, four PCI-Express 2.0 x1 slots and a single M.2 slot. Storage includes two SATA Express ports and eight SATA 6GB/s ports. At the bottom of the board there are power and reset buttons as well as a debug LED. We can also spot two USB 3.0 headers on the board and ASUS’s Crystal Sound 2 audio solution.
As far as the rear I/O goes there are two USB 3.1 ports (Type-A), four USB 3.0 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, mini DisplayPort, DisplayPort, HDMI, dual Gigabit Ethernet, and antenna connections for the WiFi Go module that provides 802.11 b/g/n connectivity.
