ASUS held a press event to show off their GTX 980 Ti offerings and three new unreleased cards shows up at the event. These cards included the ASUS ROG MATRIX 980 Ti, ASUS POSEIDON GTX 980 Ti Platinum, and the ASUS GTX 980 Ti 20th Anniversary Edition Gold Platinum.
ASUS ROG MATRIX GTX 980 Ti
If you are familiar with ASUS’s Matrix line then you know what this card is all about. This dual-slot card is designed with a custom PCB that is made for extreme overclocking. Power to the card comes by way of two 8pin PCI-Express power connectors. The cards backplate has a sort of honeycomb design with “ASUS MATRIX” on it. No details on this card were revealed so it might not be ready for mass production yet.
ASUS POSEIDON GTX 980 Ti Platinum
The ASUS POSEIDON GTX 980 Ti Platinum is ASUS’s hybrid designed card. This means you can connect it up to you existing watercooling system, but if you want to run it on air you can do that as well. Although if you don’t have a watercooling system we are not sure why you would get this card, unless you plan on building one in the future. The GPU clock on the card is set at 1114 MHz core and 1203 MHz boost with the memory at 7.0 GHz (effective). The card also has a backplate on it.
ASUS GTX 980 Ti 20th Anniversary Edition Gold Platinum
The ASUS GTX 980 Ti 20th Anniversary Edition Gold Platinum was made to celebrate 20 years of graphics card manufacturing by the company. It is more or less the same card as the ROG Matrix card, but it could have higher clocks, details were not revealed. The cards shroud does have a different color design of black and metallic gold and it does have a pretty cool gold backplate as well.
ASUS was also handing out a very cool flash drive that is designed to look like a graphics card! We need a few of these!
