General Setup & Software
Getting the SBC-06D1S-U setup is extremely easy; just plug both USB connectors into your PC and you are ready to go. Windows will automatically detect the drive and install the appropriate drivers. You will also notice that the “X” on the outside of the drive lights up, which is pretty cool.
Included with the SBC-06D1S-U is a pretty nice software package. First off you get the CyberLink Blu-ray Disc Suite that includes PowerDVD, PowerBackup, InstantBurn, and Power2Go. Then you also have Blu-tuner which allows you to change the brightness of the “X” illumination on the outside of the drive, E-Green which tracks the power savings of the drive and Turbo Engine which is a specialized driver that will allow the drive to perform at the best speeds.
If you have never used the Blu-ray disc suite it is extremely easy to use. It is all point and click, anyone can use it! It has all of the options and features that you need for the drive.
Blu-tuner is a pretty simple program that will allow you to change the illumination of the “X” on the outside of the drive. You can switch from 100%, 75%, 50%, 37.5% and no illumination at all. The E-Green application tracks Power Saving and Reduced CO2, something some people might want to know.
