Installation
This board is an X58 board so we will be installing it into our X58 test system.  Before you get started installing the board you first want to seat your CPU.

WARNING – Use extreme caution when installing LGA 1366 CPUs. The pins in the CPU socket are very fragile and easily damaged. DO NOT TOUCH THE PINS WITH YOUR FINGERS!

You also want to install your memory and CPU cooler.  Doing all this before you install the motherboard in your case makes things a lot easier.

Our test system is comprised of the following items:

Processor: Intel Core i7-965 Extreme
Motherboard: ASUS Rampage III Formula
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 6950
Memory: Crucial Ballistix DDR3-1866 6GB
Power: Zalman ZM1000-HP Plus 1000W
Storage: Samsung 750GB SATA II Drive
Case: In Win BUC Mid Tower

Getting everything installed in our system was quite easy actually.  I did not run into any issues at all.

You will notice in the photos we installed the ASUS ASUS HD 6870 DirectCU, but we later switched that out for the Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 for testing.
