ASUS P6T Intel X58 LGA 1366 Motherboard Review

The BIOS
As most other Asus motherboards, the P6T uses the American Megatrends BIOS, a tabbed BIOS that is easy to navigate.

The Main menu shows date/time, and the drives found by the system.

The AI Tweaker contains all of the relevant overclock settings. It is a long page with few submenus. There is lots of stuff here that the Core 2 user isn’t accustomed to, I’ll talk about that some in the overclocking section.

The Advanced menu has several submenus, the only ones really relevant are the CPU Configuration and Onboard Devices submenus.

The CPU Configuration submenu has the basic CPU info, and settings to enable EIST and related functions.

The Onboard Devices submenu is where you enable or disable some of the onboard stuff you may or may not use.

The Power menu contains the Hardware Monitor, besides temps, voltages, and fan speeds, you can set up the CPU and chassis Q-Fan controls.

The Boot menu contains the Boot Drive priority and Boot Settings submenus.

From the Tools menu, you can flash your BIOS, save a couple of overclocks, or check your network. You can also enable Asus Express Gate or set up Asus Drive Expert, a couple of features that I’ll cover in a minute.
