Overclocking
Overclocking with the M4A785TD-V EVO is overly simple for someone who has spent most of the last three or four years overclocking Intel rigs, just HT bus x multiplier. There is no readout of what your clock speed will be, so you’ll have to use your brain or a calculator to determine clock rates from while in the BIOS. All relevant settings are in one menu, which makes overclocking a breeze.
After a fair amount of experimentation, I got the Phenom II X3 720 to 3.7gHz, the highest I’ve overclocked this processor so far.
Testing – Benchmarks
For testing I first ran the benchmarks I commonly use to check out the stability and performance of a system. I ran the tests at stock clock of 2.8gHz, then at my overclock of 3.7gHz.

I bought this board a few months back. While I am fairly happy with it, I have one performance issue I have not been able to resolve. When downloading files my my speed has decreased about 500kB on average. where I used to average about 2MB/sec I am now getting about 1.5 Mb/sec. I installed the latest drivers with no improvement. All other factors are unchanged, same router, modem, cables, etc. Only the motherboard was changed. Any ideAS?
