Overclocking
Though ASRock’s OC Tuner, their software overclocking utility, is probably the best out there, I still get my overclocking satisfaction in the BIOS. The X58 Extreme3’s BIOS has CPU EX OC settings, where you can choose overclock presets. I mainly like it because you can pick a preset and tweak from there.
I play around with things a while, and end up with the overclock I usually settle with, 3.9gHz. It isn’t the max but it is the most stable.
Testing – Benchmarks
To check out the performance and stability of the ASRock X58 Extreme3, I ran a series of benchmarks, both at stock clock and my overclock.

It was really surprising how these numbers compared with testing from earlier models of X58 motherboards. They were a lot better than my testing with the ASRock X58 Supercomputer, but I felt that the BIOS was not quite mature enough when I tested that motherboard.

480Gb/s is not 10 x 480Mb/s. It is 1024 x as fast.
USB3 actually runs at 4800Mb/s, or 4.8Gb/s, which *is* 10 x as fast as USB2.
