Asetek 510LC, 550LC, 570LX & 591LX Liquid CPU Coolers Review

Installation
Fortunately for this reviewer all four units install with the same hardware so installation will be shown one time and was simply repeated for all the coolers. It is also worth noting that Asetek only sells the coolers themselves. For our review they did provide new 120mm fans, but the fans that you get will vary depending on where you place your order.

What was provided to ThinkComputers were six Power Logic PLA12025S12M black 12v fans. They are pretty quiet fans that seem to move a low to medium amount of air.

The first step with each cooler was to attach the fans to the radiators. Simply line the fans up and secure with the included hardware. We set the fans in push pull each time and had the air exhausting from inside the case. When securing the fans they were easily screwed in without causing any damage to the radiator fins. Additionally they didn’t cause the paint to flake or chip.

The radiator was then secured to the top of our test case. With the 360 rad I found it easiest to first attach the large radiator with two of the smallest included screws.

I then attached the middle fan completely, removed the two small screws and installed the remaining two fans.

Now with the radiator in place it is time to install the CPU bracket components. First thing is to set the sliders on the back plate to the correct position and pass them through the holes in the motherboard. With the backplate in place we then secured it with the standoffs.

After setting up the socket for installation we now need to attach the Intel ring to the pump. Like the other models we’ve tested with this design it was easy to pass the ring through the notches on the pump body, turn it slightly and secure it with the plastic ring.

With that last step simply line the pump up and press it firmly on the CPU. Secure with the four thumb screws and you’re nearly done. The final step is to attach the pump’s three pin power connector to the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard.

While I can’t say that this installation system is my absolute favorite, it is definitely towards the top based on how simple and efficient it is.
