Asetek 510LC, 550LC, 570LX & 591LX Liquid CPU Coolers Review

Asetek Coolers Overview
We received the four coolers in a large non descript box that was stuffed full of foam and padding. Since these coolers go straight from the manufacturers warehouse to the system builders, there is no special packaging or advertising. The only protection for each unit was a plastic cup to keep the cold plate from becoming scratched and/or smearing thermal paste everywhere.

While this lackluster of protection may seem disappointing you have to remember that any damages will be dealt with by the builder and not the final customer.
Along with the units we also had installation materials for both AMD and Intel sockets as well as the necessary screws and washers required for installing both fans and the units into the case.

591LX
As the largest unit we received we also expect this triple 120mm to be the highest performing. It is actually the same top level performer as the Thermaltake Water 3.0 Ultimate. If you remember this was the best performing cooler at ThinkComputers for 2014. As well as being a great performing unit, it also boasts some extremely long tubing which should allow many installation options. At the pump end we find a small puck shaped pump with just the tubing and a three pin power connector. The cold plate is all copper with micro channels on the business side. The radiator is finished in a high gloss black paint over top of a relatively thin radiator with a dense fin per inch count.

570LX
This 240mm unit is also quite the achiever and is the same cooler you would find in the Corsair H105 as well as the Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme. While it is not likely to cool as well as the larger 591LX it should still pack quite the punch with the same puck style pump and flexible rubber tubing. The pump housing on the 570LX is slightly taller than the pump on the 591LX but is the same Gen 4 pump. It too features an all copper cold plate with micro channels and will be more easily fit into smaller cases than the bigger 360 rad version.

550LC
While a third the size of the 591LX the 550LC definitely has its place in the line-up. Like the bigger brothers, this sibling features the same Gen4 integrated pump and copper cold plate. The only thing that has been shrunk on the 550LC is the size of the radiator. This 120mm unit has a pretty dense and identical fin per inch count to the previously mentioned coolers. With flexible rubber tubing it will be great to use in a build with space or budget constraints. Identical to the Corsair H55 and the Thermaltake Water 3.0 Performer this is sure to be a competitive and efficient cooler.

510LC
Finally we have Asetek’s entry level model. While generally included at no extra charge, it will still do a great job cooling your CPU. It features the standard 120mm radiator and flexible rubber tubing as the others but the similarities end there. The pump design is a much taller cylindrical shape and is finished with an aluminum cold plate. The tubing leads into the pumps plastic shell on the bottom and doesn’t have the ability to swivel at all. The unit is definitely a no frills entry level model and has no current marketplace equivalent.
