Apple Launches 2013 iMac with Haswell Processors and Iris Pro Graphics

Apple has finally refreshed their iMac lineup. This new refresh includes adding Intel’s newest Haswell processors with Iris Pro integrated graphics and NVIDIA’s 700 series dedicated graphics cards. This is a nice refresh for iMac users and will lead to much better performance on these machines.

The base configuration is a 21.5-inch unit that features a 2.7 GHz Core i5 processor, 8GB of memory, 1TB hard drive and Iris Pro integrated graphics. The top configuration is a 27-inch unit that features a 3.4 GHz Core i5 processor, 8GB of memory, 1TB hard drive, and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M. The graphics are the big improvement here. With the GeForce 700 series cards users should expect much more performance according to Apple.

The hard drive on these iMac’s is Apple’s Fusion drive and it is said to be improved. Apple says it is up to 50% faster.
