Antec P193 Advanced Super Mid Tower Review

P193 Overview
The P193 is a VERY large case.  The actual dimensions of the case are 20.25″ (H) x 8.1″ (W) x 23.25″ (D).  I’m not sure why Antec is still calling this case a Mid Tower, but oh well.  The P193 has an all black design with a silver aluminum door that gives the P193 a very sleek look.

Starting at the front of the case you can see it is designed much like the P183.  There are really cool accents on the door as well.  On the side of the front of the case you have all of your connections as well as a lock for the door.  The front panel connections include eSATA, 2x USB 2.0, and audio.

The front door easily opens up and its dual-hinge design allows you to fold it back flush with the side panel of the case.  I’ve seen so many case doors get broken off because someone bumps into them.  With the dual-hinge design the door is out of the way.  When you open the door up you can see all of your drive bays.  At the top you have 4 5.25-inch drive bays and at the bottom there is a single 3.5-inch drive bay.

You will also notice 2 large spots that are in front of where your intake would be.  These are actually doors.  Press them in to unlock them and they will open up.  Each door as well as all the bezel covers have dust filters on them to help keep dust out of your case.

Moving alone to the side of the case, it is pretty plain except for a large object that comes out of the side of the case.  This is actually a design that incorporates the side panel’s 200mm fan.  Antec has moved the fan to the outside of the case to make more room inside for larger heatsinks.  There is also a very larger fan filter that can be easily removed for easy cleaning.

The back of the case is pretty simple, but you can see that the P193 has a removable power supply bracket that when removed allows you to install one of Antec’s CP-Series power supplies like the CP-850 that we recently reviewed.  There are 2 large holes on the back of the case for water cooling tubes.  At the top there is a 120mm exhaust fan.  Also towards the top there are fan controls for the rear fan and the 2 fans on the top of the case.

The 2 fans on top of the case are 140mm fans and have honeycomb mesh on top of them.  Also the side panels have thumbscrews on the which is a plus!

  1. I had an Antec P190 for three years and I didnt like it much. Because of the motherboard area the case is a bit of a pain to work with and isnt that much bigger than any other case in the motherboard area. Looking at the P193 there isnt much improvement over the P190. I am happy I went and changed my case for a Corsair Obsidian 800D which is a thousand times better.

  3. I just got my P193 yesterday, and there is most definitely room for 2.5″ drives! They're in the removable hard disk sections on the same level as the motherboard. The holes are there, just move the silicon grommets over and voila. You might want to increase your rating!

  5. The P193 case has fantastic build quality and massive amounts of room for any type of set-up you may have in mind. I’ve built a system using the P193 case, an ASUS Sabertooth 990FX motherboard and 6 x 2TB Western Digital hard drives. The case can easily fit two full length graphics cards and has more fans than a Hollywood celebrity!!!
However, there is one issue that I only discovered after my build was complete and I was about to put the case cover on. I installed a Corsair water cooling system with the radiator fitted to the back, lower fan outlet. The P193 has the additional fan installed on the case cover and this intrudes into the case itself…and wouldn’t then fit because of the Corsair radiator location. Wherever you install it the case, the cover fan always hits against it. So you end having to take off the case cover fan and install it on the outside of the cover, so it doesn’t take up any space inside the case. Great case, but be warned!!!!
