Antec Kuhler H2O 620 Liquid CPU Cooler Review

Installation
The system we will be installing the Antec Kuhler into is comprised of the following components.

Antec Dark Fleet DF-35 Mid Tower Case
Asus Maximus III GENE Motherboard
Intel Core i5-750 Processor
16GB DDR3
ATI 5850 Video Card

The installation for water cooling setups can be a pain with making the custom loops and making sure there are no leaks. But with the Antec AIO kit it makes everything simple and straight forward to install and setup.

The first thing I decided to start off with was the bracket and motherboard’s backing mount. In the first picture listed below you have the Intel bracket that will go on the back side of the motherboard. Since we are installing this on a 1156 setup we will be putting the 4 nuts into the1156 slots on the bracket.

Now are moving onto the bracket that will screw to the back of the motherboard bracket along with holding the Antec Kuhler CPU block to the processor securely. But first you must put the 4 Intel Blue spacers into the bracket so you can make sure you’re not tightening the bracket down too much. After all is said and done it should like this.

So let get this installed now. I started with the backplate to make sure it gets lined up and installed it right after I had it lined up I went to the front and then got the 4 screws put through the front part of the bracket that will hold the CPU in its place. You have to make sure you don’t tighten the screws or you won’t be able to get the Antec Kuhler CPU block in and mounted correctly.

After you have that completed you just put the CPU block in and twist it. I decided to install it where you can see what it looks like right and not upside down or sideways. (Sorry picky about the way my computer stuff looks.) With the screws tightened and the CPU block in there tight. Now after this is all said and done here is what you will have. This is with the 1 stock Antec fan installed.

Now with 2 fans installed you have to go to the hardware store and get some extra hardware to be able to add the second fan. After so is completed here is what you will have.

  2. Just a heads up all – if you get a KUHLER H2O 620 and want to set up two fans for push-pull, you need to ask for 6-32 x 1-¼ inch screws. You should be able to find these at hardware or hobby stores.

  4. Just got one, results for stock speed Phenom II X4 965 are impressive. 3.4 X4 965 BB on ASUS M4A785-M MB. Room temp 22c, Idle 27c, Prime 95 4 hours 39c. I will test overclocking shortly.
The kuhler h20 620 replaced a Zalman (sorry don’t know the model #) all copper, w/120mm fan.
With the Zalman, PC would Idle at 34c and 57c at max load on stock 3.4 Ghz.. The Kuhler is very quiet and the Zalman sounded like a vacuum cleaner when the fan was adjust past 1800 RPMs.
I need to test it some more, but so far ,so ggod.

  5. I don’t care for a review, that adds hardware not included with the item.
Therefore the review skewed and making it non-withstanding,
I expected better, I want a review to tell me  “out of the box” why not go with a differrent thermal paste, other fan configurations etc etc. bogus review
