Final Thoughts
This is the first 80PLUS Platinum certified power supply that we have seen from Antec and for an for the entry-level segment they have done a pretty good job. In our testing the voltage regulation on all three rails was just over 1% which is really good. You can not go wrong with the Platinum rating either. This will keep your electricity bill down especially if you are using this power supply on your main rig.
The build quality of the power supply was good and I liked that all of the cables were sleeved. I really would have liked to have seen more than two PCI-Express connectors, most 650W power supplies have four.
Right now you can pick up the Antec EarthWatts Platinum 650W power supply at my favorite online retailer for $119. This makes it one of the more expensive 650W power supplies out there, but you have to keep in mind it is a 80PLUS Platinum power supply from Antec. Overall if you can live with only two PCI-Express connectors and are looking for an 80PLUS Platinum certified power supply the EarthWatts Platinum 650W Power Supply is a good choice.
