Platinum 650W Overview
The Antec EarthWatts Platinum 650W power supply is your basic-looking power supply as most of the more efficient and cost effective power supplies are. They are not meant to be flashy or anything like that. The power supply is all black and has a single sticker on the side that identifies it as the EarthWatts Platinum 650W power supply.
On the bottom of the unit is a 120mm DBB fan that is controlled by Antec’s Thermal Manager. The thermal manager helps keep the fan quiet, while still keeping your power supply nice and cool. On the back of the power supply is the power connection and power switch. You will also notice the back of the power supply has a honeycomb design. This is to keep air flowing through it.
On the opposite of the power supply is a small Antec logo. The cables come out of the power supply from the front. Taking a closer look here we can see that the cables are sleeved all the way into the power supply and the opening has a plastic covering around it to make sure that the cables will not rip.
This power supply is not modular as many high efficiency power supply are not. So all of the cables are connected to the power supply. All of the cables are nicely sleeved. Taking a closer look we have the single 24pin ATX power connector, one 8pin CPU power connector, two 8pin(6+2) PCI-Express connectors, four molex connectors, six SATA connectors, and a single floppy connector.
