AMP SP1 Overview
The first thing I noticed when I took the SP1 out of the packaging was its rubberized finish. This not only makes it easy to carry with you, but makes it versatile as you won’t have to worry about it getting a bit wet or dropping it. We received the black / red version, but it also comes in white / pink and green / black. There will be new colors launching very soon as well.
The SP1 is not the smallest Bluetooth speaker out there, but definitely not the largest either. With the dimensions of 158(H) x 41(W) x 62(D) mm it is small enough to carry around with you. It will easily fit in your laptop bag or backpack, but don’t expect it to fit inside your pocket. Because of its size you have two 2-inch drivers inside, which is double of what many portable Bluetooth speakers have.
On the top of the SP1 there are three buttons. You have volume up and volume down and in the center there is your Bluetooth pairing button that also acts as an answer call button. To the right of the volume up button there is a small microphone. So yes, the SP1 can take calls and act as a speaker phone. On the right side of the SP1 you have a power switch, auxiliary input and USB charging port.
