Antec AMP Pulse Overview
Antec’s AMP Pulse headset is sure a sexy looking headset. We received the orange version, but it also comes in black, blue, white and pink. The outer shell of the headset is made of plastic that has a glossy finish, which just looks great. The inner parts of the headset are also made of plastic that has a matte-type finish to it. Don’t let the plastic fool you this is a quality-made headset and you can tell that the moment you pick it up.
Each earcup has 40 mm drivers inside so the audio quality should be very good. The earcups are actually meant to sit on your ear, rather than go around your ear. The earcups are cushioned which should provide good comfort.
The headband of the headset also has the same cushioning on it. This is good as this is where most of the pressure of the headset will be.
The right side of the headset holds all of the controls and connections. The front part has forward, play / pause, and back buttons as well as the integrated microphone.
The opposite side has volume up and down buttons and the power button. The power button also functions as the pairing button. I do have to say all of these buttons are very small.
On the bottom part is the microUSB port for charging, 3.5mm audio connection and a very small indication LED. There is also a larger answer button on the side of the headset, so you can easily answer calls without having to touch your phone.
The headset is adjustable and can easily be pulled out to properly fit your head. You can also fold the headset so it can fit in the included carrying bag. This makes it easy for you to throw the Pulse in your laptop bag or backpack.
