When AMD announced the RX 480 the big thing they boasted was that two of these cards in CrossFire would perform better than NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1080. That was quite a bold statement, especially since you’ll be able to pick up two RX 480’s for $400, compared to the $599 of the GeForce GTX 1080. Well it looks like this statement is true, at least in 3DMark.
The guys over at VideoCardz have run two RX 480’s in CrossFire against the latest offerings from NVIDIA and the results show they beat out the GTX 1080, while only slightly.
Keep in mind that just because the RX 480 has 1.8x scaling in 3DMark does not mean it will scale this good in games.
