AMD Radeon R9 Fury X2 To Possibly Launch Next Month

Back in June AMD CEO Lisa Su showed off a dual GPU graphics card based on two Fiji GPUs. Since then we really have not heard a whole lot about the GPU board, which has the code name Gemini. It looks like AMD will be holding a special event next month where the Fury X2 will be announced.

Talking about the Fury X2 we do not even know what is what the official name will be, we just guess that based on past naming from AMD. Now the rumor is that the card will have two fully fledged Fiji XT chips, but that might not be the case. We could see two Nano’s tied together to fit the 300W power envelope.

The latest teaser or leak for the card comes from DICE’s technical director Johan Andersson who posted the below photo to Twitter. This leads us to believe that the Fury X2 will be another liquid-cooled Radeon graphics card. Unfortunately Andersson’s sample was leaking.

As more information on the Fury X2 comes out we will be sure to let you know!
