AMD Hawaii GPU To Cost Below $600

Since we have announced that AMD will be announcing their new Hawaii GPU on September 25th at an event in Hawaii the big question many people have been asking is how much the card will be at launch. Until now that was a real mystery, but Fudzilla is reporting that the card will cost below $600!

The report by Fudzilla says that the Hawaii GPU will cost less than $600. The US price would be set at either $599 or $549. In both of those cases it puts it $50-100 cheaper than NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 780 graphics card.

So if it is cheaper than NVIDIA’s offering what about performance? Well the leaked benchmark we posted a couple of days ago shows that it outperforms NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX Titan, at least in 3DMark’s Fire Strike demo. Should NVIDIA be worried that AMD may offer a better performing card for a lower price point?

You have to remember the leaked retail box also had Battlefield 4 inside so that adds even more value to AMD’s bundle.

We will see if NVIDIA drops the price of their cards when Hawaii launches at the end of next month.
