The AeroCool Touch 1000 is the single bay version of the AeroCool Touch 2000 we reviewed back in August. The Touch 1000 is a simpler version of the Touch 2000 mainly because there is not enough room to fit all of the features of the Touch 2000 into a single bay. The Touch 1000 offers a touch LCD screen with a black hair brushed aluminum border. The panel can display data for up to four temperature sensors and four fans. Only one of each is viewable at any given time, but a tap of a button will rotate through the four readings.
The short profile design fits into any standard 5.25” external drive bay and should fit on most smaller cases. The set of temperature sensors and fan controllers are plugged in by factory default; only the temperature sensors can be removed individually.
The fan connector cables are labeled FAN1-FAN4 and the temperature sensors are labeled CPU, VGA, HDD, and SYS. Each set of cables can be kept together or each individual wire can be pulled apart to get the cables in the right places.
Installing the panel is pretty simple, just slide the bay into an empty 5.25” external bay, secure it to the case and then attach the fan cables and place temperature sensors.
