DashDrive Elite HE720 Overview
When you take the DashDrive Elite out of the box the first thing you are going to notice is the finish on it. The stainless steel finish looks awesome! The pictures really do not do it justice, this has to be the sexiest external hard drive that I have seen! Besides just having the stainless steel finish it also has 9H scratch resistance, which means that awesome finish is going to stay intact.
On the front of the drive there is a large ADATA logo. When you flip the drive over there are 4 small feet that will keep the HE720 from scratching up your desk. Also on the back is a sticker with your serial number and lets us know the capacity, which is 500GB. That is currently the only capacity the HE720 is available in.
Towards the bottom of the drive there is a small activity and power LED. On the same end of the drive you will find the only button and connection, a “backup” button and a USB 3.0 connection. It is the dual USB 3.0 connection, the one that looks like it has 2 connections built into one.
Besides the awesome finish on the HE720 the other awesome feature is that it is extremely small and thin! The actual dimensions are 117 x 79 x 8.9mm (4.6 x 3.1 x 0.4in) and it weighs in at only 164g (0.4 lb). To give you an idea of how thin that is check out the photos below of the HE720 compared to 7mm thick SSD and an iPhone 4. This drive is definitely small enough to fit inside your pocket!
