Usage & Testing
For an overview of all the different modes of the AE400 and what all you can do with it check out our video below.
ADATA has both Android and IOS apps that you can download for free. Using the App with your mobile device you can view documents and photos as well as stream videos from the storage device you have plugged into the AE400. I had no problems streaming 720p videos from the AE400 to my iPhone. Remember you can use an SD card, USB flash drive or USB hard drive. Now you can only use one storage medium at a time though. You can also download any file that is on your storage medium to your mobile device as well as upload files from your mobile device to the AE400.
The AE400 can also connect to any WiFi connection and share that connection with up to 10 devices. This way while you are connected to the AE400 transferring and streaming media you can still be connected to the internet. You can also use the AE400 as a travel router. You can have it connect to the WiFi in say a hotel and then have everyone connect to the AE400. It makes things much easier especially if you have more than 1 device with you. You can go into the settings on the AE400 and change the WEP password, AP name and much more. Everything that I mentioned here can also be done on a normal PC so you are not limited to using the AE400 with mobile devices only.
Besides providing wireless storage the AE400 can act as a power bank. It has a 5000 mAH battery inside that you can use to charge your devices. As long as your device has a USB charging cable you are good. Since there is a card reader on the AE400 you can use it a simply as a card reader that you can connect to your PC via the USB cable.
