Futuremark has just announced PCMark 8 into its line of benchmarking suites that target all PC subsystems. This benchmark is designed specifically for newer Windows 8 PCs, but the benchmark should work just fine on Windows 7 machines as well. In this new benchmark Futuremark has brought over some battery life tests from their own PowerMark Suite. Other new tests include native application tests using both Adobe and Microsoft applications to simulate real world usage.

The Acer Iconia Windows 8 tablet has finally come forward and showed itself off on Acer Finland website. On their website Acer has now revealed full specifications of tablet which first showed up on Amazon. The tablet comes with a preinstall Windows 8 Pro and Intel Atom Z2760 processor along with 2GB of RAM and Intel graphics media accelerator 3650 GPU. Storage capacity is low of 64 GB eMMC. Connectivity uses the usual Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with Bluetooth 4.0. The site doesn’t have to say anything about the battery life but as tested by Acer its 8 hours which is pretty reasonable.

Finally the specification chart for the upcoming NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 graphics card has been unveiled. This confirms all of the details we have been reporting over the past month. Well awaited Dell Android ‘Ophelia’ PC is now ready to be shipped in July. This unique device apparently looks like a flash drive. It’s hard to believe that all pc like facilities are available in this little thumb sized device. It plugs in the HDMI port of HDTV, monitors etc which immediately turns it into a smart device. Users would be able to access apps from Google Play store and will be able to download Android games, stream movies and TV’s show. It also features Bluetooth so the user can connect wireless mouse and keyboard to it. Wifi is also made available to connect to the local network.

Sometimes it can be hard to find an easy, affordable and reliable solution for external PC backups in one product. I have used several HDD enclosures and NAS products from several different makers and never really fell in love with any of them. Most of them have extremely complicated menus that you have to sift through to try and figure out how to change the RAID setup of the device. Then you have to wait several hours just for it to format a few hundred Gigs of space. Latest reports say that details of Samsung next generation Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 have just seeped out in the market. Enclosed is a blazing fast Inlet Atom Z2560 processor. According to the GLBenchmark both the new variants of the intangible Samsung Galaxy Tab have appeared on its servers. Two models which are expected to come out are Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 3 8.0. While the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 have still been kept under veil of secrecy but the point of reference do give us a partial view about the specifications and internals of device.

If Apple follows their typical release schedule, the new iPhone will be available sometime this summer, and the rumors are already flying about what that’s going to contain. With rival phones from Android stepping up their game, will Apple feel the pressure to do something completely new and spectacular? Maybe it’ll be like the 4S, which made small improvements to the iPhone 4 but didn’t break out of the mold too much. At the GeForce E-Sports festival in mainland China NVIDIA went ahead and publicly announced the flagship GeForce GTX 780 graphics card. The GeForce GTX 780 is set to launch next week on May 23rd 2013. The announcement was made by Scott Herkelman, NVIDIA’s GeForce general manager. Both VR-Zone and 4Gamer were at the event and got shots of the announcement.
