Many times we get the chance to check out new graphics cards and technology before they are released at trade shows like the Consumer Electronics show. It is often that many of these products do not make it to market for one reason or another. Here we have compiled a list of 10 Rare and Unreleased graphics cards.
ASUS has finally announced its R9 280X, R9 270X, R7 260X DirectCU II Graphics Cards based on their latest design of the DirectCU II. These new models will are equipped with better cooling systems and an enhanced PCB design. An event held in Australia revealed a few pictures of some of these models in which some other Radeon R9 and Radeon R7 GPU lineups were also pictured and now Asus has finally announced them.
Sapphire’s entire Radeon R9 and R7 lineup has been leaked by VideoCardz. This lineup includes 13 graphics cards! Some of the more interesting cards are the Vapor-X, Dual-X and Toxic series cards. The R9 and R7 series cards will hit retail shelves this week and most reviews will go live tomorrow.
We already know that most of AMD’s R9 and R7 series cards will be available October 8th so it is no surprise that we are going to start seeing non-reference cards pop up from AMD’s AIB partners. We have heard for some time now that NVIDIA would not be releasing any new graphics cards in 2013 after the launch of the GeForce GTX 760. Well our friends at VideoCardz have some exclusive details pointing to the fact that this may not be the case.
We all know that AMD will be announcing the next generation Volcanic Islands family in Hawaii on September 25th. VR-Zone has obtained some interesting information that other than the Hawaii GPU-based cards the other cards in the Volcanic Islands family will be largely based off the current GCN architecture.
It looks like we finally we know the codenames for the upcoming generation of AMD’s Radeon series including the desktop Volcanic Islands, Pirate Islands and the mobile Crystal series. This information has been leaked by 3DCenter.
We have heard reports that the first chip to debut in the Volcanic Islands series will be the Hawaii GPU which will be the flagship. Sweclockers is reporting that while the Hawaii GPU will be the flagship card, it may not arrive first, but instead would makes its debut with AMD’s FirePro Professional cards.
Sapphire has announced two new models to the HD 7700 series of graphics cards which will deliver an even more affordable choice of graphics cards based off the Graphics Core Next architecture from AMD. Both models are HD 7730′s built on AMD’s 28nm process, but one model will feature 2GB of GDDR5 memory and the other model will feature only 1GB.
It was the last year’s news; NVIDIA was making a latest G2K08 core to power their upcoming graphics card. Many rumors were in the air regarding the new card that whether they would influence the high end or low end lineup of next generation cards and it seems the G2K08 was just a low end chip with high end compute capabilities of the GK110 core that would closed down to the new GT 640 and GT 630 graphics cards.
