While Intel was showing off their DDR4 memory reference test platform at IDF13 San Francisco, Kingston was showing their own DDR4, a massive 192 GB kit! The kit was made up of 12 DDR4 16 GB 2133 MHz modules. Seeing that it was made up of 12 modules we assume that it was running on some sort of server platform rather than a normal desktop platform.
At IDF13 San Francisco Gigabyte was displaying their G1.Assassin 3 X79 motherboard. It is the successor to the G1.Assassin 2 which made its debnut with Sandy Bridge-E. It has been released specifically for Intel’s latest Ivy Bridge-E processors and features the X79 chipset.
ASRock has unveiled their flagship Z87 Extreme 11/TB20 motherboard at IDF13 San Francisco. Designed for the Haswell platform this board features an incredibly high-end design that features 22 SATA ports and dual Thunderbolt ports.
At IDF13 San Francisco Intel was showing off a PC running their next generation Haswell-E processor and new DDR4 memory. Our friends over at VR-Zone were able to get a good shot of the system and details on what was running and the new platform.
ASUS has just unveiled their latest Republic of Gamers motherboard the Rampage IV Black Edition at IDF13. The Rampage IV Black Edition features the X79 chipset and LGA 2011 socket which supports Intel’s latest Ivy Bridge-E Processors.
Intel has launched the all new ‘Bay Trail’ which is the name for its newly developed family of low power systems on a chip (SoC). By the end of this year, all the leading brands such as Lenovo, Dell and Toshiba will be incorporating these chips into their tablets, two in one and other mobile devices.
Intel decided to kick off this years IDF13 San Francisco by demoing their latest 14nm Broadwell CPU / SoC (System on Chip). Intel also confirmed that Broadwell processors would be shipping by the end of the year and Broadwell based laptops would start shipping in 2014.
We already know that Intel will be launching its Ivy Bridge-E HEDT platform on September 11, 2013 and now it is all set to Showcase SSD Overclocking at IDF13 San Francisco. Now this might sound weird as SSD overclocking is not something very common. Intel will talk about this new SSD overclocking feature next month and details will be provided on how to overclock the SSD.
