We have been hearing a lot of rumors that Intel’s upcoming 14nm Broadwell generation of CPUs are going to be delayed. They had been on track to launch in Q3 of 2014, but that might not be happening. First off the M Series and desktop parts will not be delayed at all, but the Y, U and H Series will be delayed.
The decision to delay the Mantle patch for Battlefield 4 was arrived at after much consideration. DICE on the public introduction of Mantle has received continuous support from AMD and the release of the Battlefield 4 has already been stirring a lot of excitement. This was stated by a public representative of AMD who also confirmed that a January release is what AMD is looking forward to now.
Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs was a standout amongst the most foreseen game in the next gen console launch lineup but the developers have delayed it with the “The Crew” which is the multiplayer open world racing game and so far no explanation has been given as to why this was done. This delay was a huge disappointment for many gamers who considered themselves unfortunate as they wouldn’t be able to purchase their favorite game along with the next gen consoles.
The Core “Broadwell” SoCs by Intel exclusively for the desktops and the notebooks have been delayed and they are now expected to make their way somewhere earlier in the year 2014; probably by the first quarter. This delay is predominantly due to the delays caused in the production process being faced by the 14 nanometer silicon fabrication node. The chips are supposedly based on these nodes and hence they have to face the delays.
