Using many of the same technologies as the Z68 chipset the Z77 also adds support for the Virtu Universal MVP, native USB 3.0 support, Smart Connect and Rapid Start. Today we are taking a look at our first motherboard based on the Intel Z77 chipset the Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H. This motherboard is one of the twelve Z77 motherboards Gigabyte has announced. It is set to be their mainstream Z77 offering so let’s just right in and take a look.
Windows 8, it seems like we have been hearing a lot about it over the past couple of months. Recently Microsoft has released the consumer preview, which is free to download so you can try out the new operating system before it ships. If you have ever installed any Windows operating system from a CD or DVD you know it can be very time consuming. Why not speed up the process by installing the operating system using a USB flash drive. In this article we will show you how to take the Window 8 ISO and put it on a flash drive for fast and easy installation.
5 April 2012, Keelung, Taiwan - Lian-Li Industrial Co. Ltd, the award-winning aluminum computer chassis manufacturer, today announces their smallest chassis supporting a ATX motherboard – PC-V700. This brushed aluminum chassis allows PC builders to get the most out of every available space with its efficient and flexible design.
The PC-V700 with dimensions of 8.26” (W) x 15.74” (H) x 19.52” (D) (210 x 400 x 496mm) gives users several options for installing their hardware in a space saving form. The hotswappable HDD cage below the 5.25” drive bay at the top of the chassis holds up to four 3.5” hard drives. The removable SSD rack that can be placed to hang underneath the 3.5” HDD bay allows users to install two 2.5” hard drives. For users that prefer longer VGA cards, when this 2.5” SSD rack is removed graphics cards up to 17.32” (440mm) in length can be installed.
Gaming mice as a peripheral aren’t typically an item that is too high up on the food chain for some of the biggest computer part manufacturers. The main reason behind this is that PC gamers are possibly the hardest group of gamers to please. How do I know this, because I am one? Think of the gaming mouse as the one and only sword an immortal uses to take another immortals head. You don’t use just any sword; you use “your” sword just like you’d use only your specific gaming mouse in fragging and bagging some fool in your game of choice.

“The Silverstone Precision PS07 micro-ATX chassis offers a more traditional layout than the Fortress series, although access to the interior is via the right side of the case, a-la BTX style format. The chassis features dual hidden 120mm silent fan intakes, along with an independent airflow channel for the power supply, all with easily removable filters. With a wide stance to accommodate extra room for cabling, the PS07 maintains a small footprint while allowing use of a full-size power supply and video card, not to mention up to six hard drives. It’s available in two color choices, black or white.”
“OCZ Technology’s Vertex series of solid state drives have been consistently popular with enthusiasts since their initial arrival in 2009. OCZ has made significant changes with each successive generation of Vertex solid state drives, but generally speaking, each one has offered strong performance and was considered among the best overall values in the consumer SSD space.
The original Vertex SSD was built around the Indilinx Barefoot controller, which was competitive when first released, but didn’t quite perform as well as some of the higher-end drives available at the time. The Vertex 2 and 3, however, featured SandForce controllers and both drives proved to be among the best performing SSDs of their generation. With the new Vertex 4 we’ll be showing you here today though, OCZ once again turns to Indilinx—now wholly owned by OCZ…”
“With the release of Intels X79 chipset and new 2011 socket it was only a matter of time before we saw Motherboards aimed at the gamer. X79 brings Quad Channel memory architecture and PCI 3.0 supporting the RAM and Video Cards respectively. Finally we get to take a look at the infamous ASRock Fatal1ty Professional Motherboard with the new X79 Chipset. The new X79 chipset brings PCI3.0 and Quad Channel Ram onto the Intel market. PCI3.0 is aimed squarely at gamers because of its throughput for the latest high end GPUs and this board has 4x of them. Fatal1ty has always been aimed at the power-user and gamer and they have (seemingly) not disappointed at first glance. All of this leaves us excited to get our hands on the board. ASRock has given us this boiled down spec sheet which leave us drooling…”
